Full of action... and pretty much nothing else.
This movie was, eh. Seriously. That is the only way to describe it. The movie made me feel like I was in a video game, but not in a fun sci-fi way. The "realistic" first-person camera work did not achieve the mood it went for.. and instead it made me dizzy and often times overwhelmed.
Some of the dialogue and general plot was even humorous (something I highly doubt they were aiming for). The plot was also so jumpy that I often had a hard time remembering who was who and what platoon they belonged to and who was Air Force versus Army.. blah blah blah. Basically, you can't follow the story because there really wasn't much of one.
I also found the movie to have an interesting line of drama. At one point I thought the movie had hit climax and was over after an exhaustive action scene and daring rescue attempt...only to find out I was wrong. The soldiers all jumped out of the helicopter and started an entirely new line of plot. At that point I was over the movie, so I was kind of frustrated.
The movie had a lot of intense and realistic action, so maybe this is a movie geared more towards men. I tend to like action movies though, so I was disappointed with the movie as an entire piece of work.
See this movie if: you love action, you wish your favorite combat video game was a movie, you like extreme war movies, you are a total alien-movie nerd, you have low expectations.
Do NOT see this movie if: you want a movie that combines exciting action with a memorable story line, you get dizzy watching a shoddy camera shot after 45minutes (or the entire movie), you enjoy high-quality movies.
